Il professore controlla e corregge i compiti per casa, chiede veloce-
mente a qualcuno di dire ad alta voce il proprio numero di telefono
o di presentare un compagno. A questo punto il docente mostra una
foto di famiglia e indica i vari componenti (
This is my father and this is
my mother
). Attraverso il supporto del libro o di un video molto sem-
plice si introduce il lessico della famiglia, facendo poi esercitare i ra-
gazzi che avranno portato la foto di alcuni componenti della propria:
a coppie gli studenti li presentano dicendo la relazione di parentela
e l’età (il docente introduce i numeri dal 20 al 100, oppure scrive alla
lavagna solo quelli richiesti).
Al lavoro sulla famiglia è possibile associare il lessico delle profes-
sioni, dal momento che gli alunni sentiranno immediatamente il
desiderio di dire qualcosa di più sui propri famigliari, quindi si
possono indicare le professioni più comuni oltre a quelle chieste
dagli studenti stessi.
Concluso il lavoro, può essere utile iniziare a parlare della cultura
anglosassone a partire da un semplice testo che parli della

The British Royal Family
The British Royal Family’s surname is Windsor. Queen Elizabeth II is the Uni-
ted Kingdom’s Head of State, Head of the Armed Forces, Head of the Church
of England and head of the Commonwealth, a multinational body created
after the dissolution of the British empire.
The Queen is married to Prince Philip, Duke of Edimburgh. They married in
1947. The Queen lives in Buckingham Palace in London.
Alongside her other duties the Queen spends a huge amount of time tra-
velling around the country visiting hospitals, schools, factories and other
places and organisations.
Queen Elisabeth and Prince Philip have got three sons and one daughter:
Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward. The eldest is Charles, he is the Prince
of Wales and presently the heir to the British throne in the case his mo-
ther abdicates. He was married to Lady Diana Spencer, they had two sons:
William and Henry. They divorced and then Diana died in a car accident.
Charles now is married again with Camilla Parker Bowles. The Queen has
totally eight grandchildren. Last summer William got married to Catherine
Middleton Duchess of Cambridge, better known as Kate Middleton.
