In addition, each candidate who will be considered eligible after passing the pre-selection test
will be asked to take a compulsory English Language Proficiency Assessment, comprising
several multiple-choice questions concerning articles the candidate will have to read and an-
swer accordingly.
1.4 Navy Marshal
The
Navy Marshal
Administration requires its candidates to take a pre-selective
C1
level En-
glish exam. Just like the other types of examinations, this one will be a multiple-choice test
as well, based on a database which will be released some time before the actual exam date.
No further examinations are required for the candidate.
1.5 Navy Officer
Candidates who are interested in attempting to enter the
Navy Officer
competition, will also
have to take a
C2
level English test, which will also be in the form of a multiple-choice test.
Nonetheless, there are some significant differences between this competition and the ones
mentioned earlier.
The first major difference is that, although each candidate is required to take this test, no da-
tabase will be released containing all the potential questions for the exam. The exam will con-
tain questions about grammar, but may also contain questions about reading comprehension.
The level required for the candidate to take this test is the
C2
.
1.6 Air Force Marshal
As far as the
Air Force Marshal
competition is concerned, the only compulsory pre-selec-
tion English test each candidate is supposed to take is the
C1
level multiple-choice test. The
database containing all the potential questions will be released some time before the exam
date, which will be the same as for the Army Marshal and the Navy Marshal competition.
1.7 Air Force Officer
Candidates attempting to take the
Air Force Officer
competition are required to take a pre-se-
lection
C2
level English test. It will also be composed of a multiple-choice test, for which all
potential questions will be released in a database some time before the exam date.
Furthermore, after passing the pre-selection exam, each candidate is required to take the En-
glish Language Proficiency Assessment exam, consisting in a series of articles, to which can-
didates will have to fill in with the most pertinent answers.
No oral – elective or compulsory – examination is required of the Air Force Officer candidate.
